Summer Baby Dress

Well I seem to have lost my inspiration photo, and it's no longer online, so this is the best I can do. I saw this halter dress at Ann Taylor Loft, and recalled a similar looking pair of swim trunks in our give-away pile. So I cut off one leg and turned it into a light summer dress for Ava. Since we've just barely started having weather over 65 degrees, it took me over a month to get a nice outdoor shot of her in it.
Theirs (I wish you could see the whole dress!):

Made: Color Block Dress

I saw some dresses like this here and there, but they were always too short. So I decided to make my own. It should have only taken a couple of hours, but it ended up taking much longer. I used a t-shirt ($8) and black 2" elastic and some plum cotton fabric. In hindsight the cotton fabric wasn't the best choice, doesn't hang real well. Rayon or something would have been better. Anyhoo, here it is. Oh yeah, and I got a haircut too. Pin It

Baby Dresses

Here are 2 more baby dresses I made. The first one was inspired by a former neighbor gal who had a lemon skirt that she wore with a plum top. I thought it was real cute, so when I saw this fabric, I decided to pair it with plum trim. I wish I had made the bottom trim wider, but aside from that I'm happy with it.

This next one was inspired by this photo of Halle Berry.

The Amelia Dress

The photo is terrible, sorry. But this is a little pillowcase dress I made for one of my coworker's coming baby. I didn't get the bloomers done in time for the baby shower, so they came later and got a separate photo. This dress ties over the shoulder, I don't know if you can tell...

Baby Dress

Here's a little dress I made for my baby girl. I actually used a real pattern, something kind of new to me. I am trying to educate myself more in sewing, so this was a step in that direction. Pin It
