Mustache Party

You may (or may not) know that mustaches are hot. They are currently everywhere. Don't believe me? Here's just one example (click here). And since no one is more aware of this trend than dear Paula, for her birthday it seemed appropriate to celebrate with that theme.
It all started with these...
(We got them from Bake It Pretty, but I've also seen them at Urban Outfitters-not online though)

Let's see them on.
And here's her cubicle.
(fabric is from IKEA. See a few of Paula's amazing creations here.)
And what mustache party would be complete without chocolate mustache lollies?
My gift for the birthday girl? A plush velour mustache pillow! (it's blonde on the reverse side).

Ava Earns Her Stripes

And so we had a striped theme for her First Birthday party! It started with this striped invitation:

And every birthday girl needs a party hat. (Made with paper and mini-pom-pom trim).
And a birthday suit, with stripes, of course! (Made with grograin ribbons).

I made an 8-layer striped cake, served with rainbow sherbet and/or neopolitan ice cream.
And Ava dove right in, face first.

Move Over Willy Wonka!

Do you ever see something that makes you amazed and inspired and at the same time blows your mind into insanity? Such is this Candyland post at Bakerella. You absolutely must check it out. It would have taken me at least 2 years to put together a party like this! I just can't even get my head around it. And read about how much of it is handmade! Wowzers. She must be the bride of Willy Wonka!Photos from Bakerella.com Pin It
