A few weeks ago I made a couple of fabric paintings. I stretched fabric over a 6"x6"x1.5" wood frame (I made the frames myself and I'm quite proud of that), and primed and painted on it. One of these I sold already (had a cute french bulldog silhouette, pink and green color scheme) but I will probably make more. They are great for a baby's room--on a shelf or on a wall
So you prime your sillouette before you paint it??? Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I just used modge podge for a clear coat to seal it. Otherwise the paint soaks into the fabric. I tried acrylic gel medium too, with a brayer to get a nice smooth texture, but it turned into a mess. That works great on a smooth flat surface, but not so good on stretched fabric.
