The Owls Are Hunting

Add these to the list of Things I'd Like to Make But Will Probably Never Get Around To:

Made by Jo, of The Owls Are Hunting. Check out the website for more great photos. I found her via Decor8. What a great way to update an old thrift store lamp. KSL classifieds sells lamps too, ya know. And Craigslist. Pin It

See, I Told You

I told you I see lots of things I don't have time to make. Here's another idea for you. I saw these fabulous jars at Burgon & Ball. And you could so easily make your own! Here's how I would try it (and please tell me if you do): Take some self-adhesive paper (like contact paper or wall vinyl) and cut out the word or phrase you want, using a Cricut machine. Peel out the word/phrase and adhere the reverse (the rest of the sheet) to a jar you already have (so it's like a sticky stencil). Take some glass etching paint and follow instructions to paint in the stencil. Remove the stencil and there you go!
Of course you could also cut out words from solid colored sticky sheets, but that wouldn't be very permanent. Could work for a cute neighbor or housewarming gift though!
You should try it, and take pictures and send them to me. Pin It

Checkbook Cover

Here's another item to add to the Things I'd Like to Make But Will Probably Never Get Around To list:
A custom fabric checkbook cover. I really do need to make one of these to replace my 10 year old cracking and dirty plastic checkbook cover. You can find the tutorial at SewCute Shop.

Things I'd Like to Make, But Will Probably Never Get Around To

I'm starting a new segment on my blog of things I'd like to make but will probably never get to. I see so much and get so many ideas, but there's just not nearly enough time in the day or week or month to do it all. But I'm going to share the ideas and hopefully some of you can make use of these things, and share what you made! So here something to get it started!
A soft baby book made with fabric scraps and old jeans. What a great use of leftovers. Find the tutorial here. Pin It
