Halloween Costume Collection
Welcome to October! I love Halloween. I think the biggest reason I love it is because of the creativity that it unleashes in people. The costumes, the pumpkin carvings, the decor, the food... everything gets a dose of fun. So to kick off the month, I thought I'd share with you a few of my costumes from past years (all home-made).
First, easiest costume ever. White clothes with black electrical tape. Add a cardboard head, and done.

This you've seen. Ava's peacock costume.
Years ago some friends and I were the alien guys from Toy Story (I've also been Jessie, but have no photos).
And since I obviously have a tendency toward Pixar film characters, let's end with Elastagirl, AKA Mrs. Incredible.
I get my love of costuming from my mother, who always made costumes for her 6 kids (though some of us sometimes got hand-me-downs)

Ha! Is that where it went? I wonder if Dan still has my Alien costume... I got tired of storing it in my small college apartments/houses so I gave it away too.

What did you mold for the alien heads paper mache?
We used some giant balloons that we found at Walmart. They took about 4 layers of paper mache and almost a week of layering and drying. Then we made fabric covers to go over them. It was quite a process.
How did you make the head for the stick figure? I know it's cardboard, but not sure how it stays on, etc.
For the stick figure head I glued or taped 2 posterboard circle together at the top, so it kind of sat on my head. And there were holes in the mouth so I could see.

Were there any issues getting the electrical tape to stick to the clothing?
